INTRODUCTION:
The term society registration means an institution of several individuals who has common interest in collectively active together to serve some important function.
Some important kind of society under the society registration are culture, sports, education, religion etc. and these are registered for the improvement of charitable activities.
The word charitable means relief of poverty, education, advancement of religion etc.
Any seven or more persons associated for charitable purpose, scientific or any such may by subscribing the names to a memorandum of association and filing the same with Registrar of joint stock companies can form themselves into a society under the Societies Registration Act, 1860.
There are some of the kinds of societies which can be registered under the Act are charitable societies, the military orphan, societies established for the promotion of science, literature or fine arts for instruction etc.

Individuals, Foreigners, Company, Partnership Firm, and Registered Society are eligible to obtain Society Registration
Foreigners or a non-resident of India
Partnership Firm
Limited Company
Registered Societies
A minor (below the age of 18 years) is not eligible.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
Society’s name
Office’s address proof
Driving License/ Aadhaar/ Voter ID/ Passport of the nine members of Society as an identity proof
Memorandum of Association (two copies)
Society Bye-laws (two copies).
HOW TO REGISTER AN NGOs AS A SOCIETY:
One should keep in mind in finalizing the name of Society are as follows:
The name of Society should be as per the rules laid out by Society Act, 1860 which states if identical name is selected, the Authority will reject it.
The name should not be against Government of India.
The name should accordance by Emblem and Names Act, 1950.
No word or phrase must be included which is against Government/Community.
CONCLUSION:
Each society registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 is valid for five years, and after that, it is needed to be renewed. The society registration renewal needs to be done within one month from the period of expiration of the registration.
